Happy Easter to my “Peeps”!

Just a short post today … I’m looking forward to a nice leisurely afternoon spent with my family.

Today we only have one guests arriving. Our other guests arrived over the past couple of days and seem to have settled into their Easter weekend vacation. No emergency calls … “knock on wood.” The guest who is arriving this afternoon has been staying with us for years. Sharon’s a wonderful gal and every Easter she and her husband treat her entire family … kids and grandkids … to a week at one of our fabulous pool homes. Today I wanted to do something a bit special to welcome them for the fifth year!

I was up early this morning shopping for the perfect Easter gift. I found myself at my favorite local bakery … Bristol Farms. They have gorgeous cakes and oh so yummy! I found the perfect cake decorated with bunnies, jelly beans and a “Happy Easter” message in bright spring colors. I also picked up a nice bottle of chardonnay, chilled … for the big kids! I left all of these in the refrigerator with a card wishing Sharon and her family a Happy Easter and a wonderful vacation … from the entire gang at Vacation Rentals of the Desert. Opened all the blinds, turned on lights for ambiance, set the A/C at 75 (it’s in the mid-90s here), put the lock box on the front door, key in the lock box and came home to write my weekly blog.

We make a point of leaving gifts periodically for repeat guests and those that have touched us in a particular way. Cards, cakes, pies, cookies, candy, wine, blow-up pool toys, scented soap … once even a pair of fuzzy bedroom slippers! A small gift or gesture goes a long way in developing a relationship that lasts for years, generates repeat guests and referrals. But … this is not always the reason why … sometimes we just want to … just because!

Happy Easter to everyone!
